10 Creative Ways To Use QR Codes To Promote Your Business

QR or quick response codes are an excellent way to help customers find your information.Quick Response Codes  When scanned with the camera on a smart phone, and using the application, the black and white square becomes a gateway to a website or contact information.  Since you determine where the QR code directs your customer, it's up to you what the person who scans the code will receive after scanning. 

This opens up many opportunities for creative use of the code.  Just to get you started, here are a few way s to creatively use QR codes for business:

  1. Business cards — Adding a QR code to the business card is a great way to get your contact information into the recipients cell phone.
  2. Name badges - Using a name bade with a QR code is another great way to get your contact information directly into the recipients phone.
  3. Post card mailer - When the recipient scans the code, it's faster and easier than having them type a URL into their computer or cell phone. Direct the code to a specials page on your website.
  4. Campaign Yard Signs — Great for a campaign where you can feature more information about the candidate.
  5. Fundraising materials — The person who scans the QR code can be taken directly to a page from PayPal to contribute to the cause.
  6. Temporary tattoos - The tattoo can be a way to get customers to a special sale or donation page. 
  7. Contests - create several QR codes, where each code gives a clue.  Then have just one where the person who scans the code wins a prize. The creativity of a program like this is boundless. 
  8. Events or Concerts - Get more information about the band. Buy the CD.  This is also great to share information with students and parents who are attending a concert or event. 
  9. Promotional Items - print the QR code on a mug that you give away at a Trade Show, then have the page the code points to feature monthly specials. This keeps your name in front of your customer, and also helps to promote your business every month.
  10. Promote your Facebook page with a t-shirt - Print the QR code on a t-shirt to help customers find your Facebook business page.  Encourage more "likes" and followers.
